Observation No. 02
June 2026
Bayside Brisbane, Queensland
27.4520°S · 153.1810°E
Strata Complex
Onshore wind and a long humid season. No visible mould — but the timber had already begun to respond to its environment.

Environmental Context
A multi-level residential complex situated close to the coastline. Prevailing onshore winds and prolonged seasonal humidity produced elevated moisture levels beneath roof eaves and within poorly ventilated service cavities. No visible mould was present, although localised timber moisture readings suggested conditions favourable for biological deterioration.
Observation
Humidity rarely announces itself dramatically. Instead, it accumulates quietly through repeated exposure.
Minor environmental conditions gradually became persistent biological pressure. Long before visible decay appeared, the building had already begun responding to its environment.
Operational Insight
Moisture patterns often precede biological signals. Observation cadence, rather than inspection effort, determines whether those patterns are recognised early.
